A contemporary newspaper obituary, probably from The Times: Our obituary to-day contains the announcement of the decease of a gentleman who, although personally of a quiet, retiring disposition, and perhaps hardly known to the bustling world of commerce or politics, was yet closely associated through his brother with the little borough of Harwich and the larger borough a dozen miles up the Orwell. We refer to Sir Humphrey Charles Jervis-White-Jervis, 3rd baronet, who died at Hastings a few days since. The deceased baronet was born on New Year's Day, 1821 and succeeded his father, Sir Henry Meredyth, in 1869. He remained a bachelor until 1875, when he was married to Miss Kate Evelyn d'Aubin, daughter of the late Mr. James Mc Kain, of Pembroke and Chateau d'Espinet, Bordeaux. On his death the baronetcy passed to Sir John Henry Jervis-White-Jervis
