#2765, Henry Meredyth JERVIS-WHITE-JERVIS

He was at one time in the Royal Navy and attained the rank of Commander.  He succeeded his father as second Baronet in 1830.  Sir henry married, December 16 1818, Marian, third daughter of William Campbell Esq., of Fairfield, Ayrshire, by whom he had four sons, of whom three survive, and three daughters, of whom two have been married - viz, Marian to Mark Style Esq., surgeon, Bombay Army; and Aline, to Sir henry de Hoghton, the ninth and present Baronet, of Hoghton Tower and Walton-le-Dale, Lancashire.  Sir henry Jervis is succeeded by his eldest surviving son, now Sir Humphrey Charles Jervis-White-Jervis, the third Baronet, who was born January 1st 1821.  The paternal ancestor of this family was John White Esq., who settled in Ireland in the reign of Charles II, and purchasing the estate of bally Ellis in the County of Wexford, took up his residence there.  He is supposed to have been of a knoghtly English family, and to have married a Lady Margaret Seymour.  It is thought that he married again in 1866.
