Louisa married Col. Sir Thomas St. Vincent Hope Cochrane Troubridge 3rd Bt. CB (1815-1867) on 1st November1855 and they had 7 children: Amy (1856-1932); Thomas Hay, died young; Laura (1858-1929) who married Adrian Hope in 1888; Violet (Vi) (1959-1931) who married Walter Gurney in 1893; Sir Thomas (Tom) H Cochrane Troubridge 4th Bt. (1860-1946) who married Laura (Queenie) Gurney in1893; Admiral Sir Ernest (1862-1926) who married firstly Edith Duffus (died 1900) in1891 and secondly Una Taylor in 1908 and Helen (1866-1958) who married John Brabant Bate in 1917.
Col. Sir Thomas lost both his legs in the Battle of Inkerman on 5th November 1854 during the Crimean War. Louisa is widely respected for her devoted care of her husband. It appears to have been a real-life love match.
