A number of sources record a son, Robert Spencer Cobbold, born 1816, Christened Eye 1/3/1816, living at Carlton 1841 and Bury St Edmunds 1881. The same sources record a daughter, Mary Smith Cobbold, born 1817 at St.Annuswick, Kenton, unmarried and living in Kensington, London in 1851, and another daughter, Eliza Smith Cobbold born 1821 also at St. A, Kenton and also in Kensington in 1851. It is thought a son Walter Francis was born in Eye, christened 12/6/1833 in Eye and died in Eye 2/9/1833.
