Geddes MacKenzie was the eldest daughter of George MacKenzie and his wife Margaret. Aged just fourteen, she married her cousin by Licence at her mother's house, the ceremony officiated by the Rev. Henry White.
On her marriage Entry, she is recorded as a Minor. Geddes was the Heiress of Avoch and her husband bought the remaining estate for £20,000.
Geddes is buried in Avoch Parish Churchyard, Avoch, in the Highlands of Scotland.
