Robin passed out of Sandhurst and joined The Royal Welch Fusiliers.  He moved to the City and rose to be Director of Investment Funds at Cazenove Capital Management 2001-2013.  He has held a number of Non Executive Directorships including Marlborough Investing Consultants, 2013-2019; River and Mercantile 2014-2019 and RSMR Ltd, 2014-2019 and is currently (2024) Non-Executive Chairman of Rayner Spencer Mills Research Ltd.  His profile reads there as follows: 

Previously Robin held Non-executive Director roles at Marlborough Investing Consultants Ltd and River & Mercantile plc.  He has 25 years of experience in product development and distribution of asset management through regulated intermediaries in the UK and internationally.  He originally trained as a Financial Planner at Towry Law plc, prior to moving to Henderson Investors plc.  After 6 years he was appointed Head of Global Distribution, a role which he went on to practice at HSBC Asset Management Europe, before launching a new fund management business at Cazenove & Co plc in 2001.  Over the next 12 years, Robin was instrumental in building funds via external asvisors from £300m to £6.5bn, leading up to the acquisition of Cazenove Capital Ltd by Schroders plc in July 2013.  In 2014 Robin was appointed as Non-executive Director ar RSMR and as independent Chairman in 2019
