Lady Sophia Hobart was the daughter of John Hobart, 2nd Earl of Buckinghamshire and Mary Ann Drury. She was the granddaughter of Lady Emma Edgcumbe's fellow faro player, the then Hon. Mrs Hobart who appears in Lady Emma's biography, see #15108
Lady Sophia and Richard had three children in addition to the two shown. They were (1) Emma Sophia Edgcumbe born 28th July 1791 who married, as his third wife, John, 1st Earl Brownlow on 17th July 1828. She was a lady-in-waiting to Queen Adelaide wife of William IV. She died 28th January 1872; (2) Caroline Anne Edgcumbe, born 22nd October 1792. She married on 13th February 1812, Reginald George MacDonald, 20th Captain and Chief of Clan Ranald. She died 10th April 1824 shortly after giving birth to her youngest child. She was buried in the Old Chapel at Holyroodhouse Palace leaving 1 son and 5 daughters and (3) William Richard, Viscount Valletort born 9th November 1794. He died unmarried on 29th October 1818.
