Maria's parents were the Rev. Robert Hagar born about 1740 who died 15th October 1780 in Haynes, Bedfordshire and Margaret Pigott b 1732 in Abington Pigotts, Cambridgeshire, baptised 11th February 1733 at St. Olave, Hart St, London who died on 22nd December 1830 in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. Robert and Margaret had been married on 7th August 1766 at St. Dunstan in East London. Maria was Sir John's first wife.
