Molly scadalised her parents by eloping with Frederick Wilbur Harrison who she married on 14th January 1918 in Stellenbosch. The couple had two children, Geoffrey Anthony and Beatrice Elizabeth before he abandoned her, never to be heard of again. She got a divorce.
Molly met Hermann when she was giving a recital in Cape Town and they married on 12th February 1923 ignoring the ever present social stigma of his marrying a divorcee.
Molly's mother was Eleanor Cecilia Goodison who married Henry Lionel Creed. They had 7 children of whom Molly was the second youngest.
