Beatrix's parents were Herbert Woodfield Paul MP of Cherry Orchard, Forest Row, Sussex, born 1853 in Northamptonshire and died 1935 in Uckfield, Sussex and Elinor Budworth Richie born Calcutta, India in 1859 and died in Epping, Essex in 1943. They had married in 1883 in Kingston, Surrey and Herbert was a Barrister and a Journalist as well as an MP.
