It seems that Richard and Mary had a son, John White Westhorp born 14th November 1818 of whom there is no further trace. He presumably died in infancy.
We now find a John W Westhorpe born 1819 who married a Mary A ? born 1838 and they had John 1868; Richard 1870; Edgar 1871; Mary E 1873; Edmund S 1875 and Frances A 1877. They look to be another branch of the same family but their children are born between 1868 and 1877 whereas ours were born 1815-1827. There is at least a generation of difference.
