John was an Electrical Engineer who lived some time in Nicaragua. He became a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers on 26th may 1898. He had joined the Eastern Company in 1884 as a probationer and after 2 years service as an operator was transferred to the Brazilian Submarine Company for Special Service in 1892. He joined the Central South American Telegraph Company in 1893 and became Acting Station Manager.
