His parents were Sidney Herbert, 16th Earl of Pembroke (born 1906, died 1969) and Mary Dorothea Hope. They married in 1926.

The15th Earl of Pembroke (1880-1960) Reginald Herbert was also 12th Earl of Montgomery

The 14th Earl of Pembroke (1853-1913) Sidney Herbert  was also 11th Earl of Montgomery

The 13th Earl of Pembroke (1850-1896) George Herbert was also 10th Earl of Montgomery and 2nd Baron Herbert of Lea

The 12th Earl of Pembroke (1791-1862) was also the 9th Earl of Montgomery

The 11th Earl of Pembroke (1759-1827) George Augustus Herbert KG was also 8th Earl of Montgomery/
