Edward's father was George Villiers, born 23/11/1759 in Longbridge Deverill, Wiltshire who died 21/03/1827, Knightsbridge, London, and his mother was Therese Parker, born 22/09/1775 in Devon, who died 12/01/1856, The Grove, Watford, Hertfordshire. They had been married at St. George, Hanover Square on 17/04/1798. George was an intimate of George III, Groom of the Bedchamber and Paymaster of the Marines. He was nicknamed 'The Tiger.' He was the youngest son of Thomas, 1st Earl of Clarendon.
Edward was the younger brother of the Earl of Clarendon and a friend of Henry Taylor the poet. He was Commissioner of the Colonial Land and Emigration Board.
