John's will was dated 17th October 1735, and proved 28th April 1749. In his will he left all his lands to his son Thomas; £40 to his son John to be paid at the rate of £10 per year; £30 to his son Martin to be paid at the rate of £5 per year; £5 to his daughter Mary Fryer and £5 to granddaughter Mary Bannock; £10 to his daughter Hannah Howett; £10 to his son William paid within 1 year; £6 to his daughter Ann Wright to be paid at the rate of forty shillings per year. His son Thomas to be sole executor, and the will was witnessed by William Yates, Thomas Cobbold junior and William Grimwood.
