The Davys: R. Davy of Northstead was Master of the Jewel House in the reign of Henry VI about 1460.

William Davy, a Pardoner was beheaded in1483, the first year of Richard III's reign for communicating with the Earl of Richmond, later Henry VII, in Britany and for attempting to free the Princes from the Tower.

Charles Davy was in the Excise Department. The black cabinet came from his marriage to Miss Coke of Holkham and was passed down the female line to Mary Ann Davy who filled it with letters from her nephew in China and what appear to be little presents from the Cobbolds in China. When she died at Ross Rectory she left it to Caroline Ann Cobbold who left it to her daughter, Edith McConnel who left it to Ruth Cobbold (Cam) who gave it to her daughter, Ann Maybrick (Jamieson) who has now given it to Mary Cave-Browne.

Said, in the DNB to be of Hatton Garden
