Reginald Mayo had the unusual distinction of being a Captain in the Army in WWI and a Squadron Leader in the RAF in WWII. Awarded an MC Reginald was wounded on the Somme and met his wife when recovering in hospital. He was a tall handsome well-to-do young man who fell in love with the good looking nurse and daughter of a country landowner - a fairytale romance.
Reginald's father was W H Mayo the owner of a large house in Malvern in which he played the piano with Edward Elgar. His grandfather was co-founder of the Coventry Eagle Motorcycle Company so it was no surprise that Reginald enjoyed the fun of a Zenith racing motor bike.
