Trubshaw played in The Guns of Navarone (1961), The Pink Panther (1963) and Brandy for the Parson (1952). He was married to Cecilia Tower and Margaret Louise McDoudall. He was a military character actor, tall and with a handlebar moustache. He was a close friend of David Niven with whom he served in a Highland Regiment in Malta, and figures prominently in Niven's biography. Trubshaw's debut film was They Were Not Divided (1950) and he also appeared in The Moon's a Balloon and Around the World in 80 Days.
He was Niven's best man for both his marriages and was godfather to Niven's son, David Jr.
