In the 1890s, Charles Lewis won the Queen's Prize at Bisley; had market garden, Jersey, growing tomatoes; 1883, of Beauverd, Millbrook and later of Demi des Pas Hotel, St Luke's, Jersey, Channel Islands. Thinking he had cancer (which he had not) he committed suicide by shooting himself and died on 24 05 1928 "suddenly", at St Luke's, Jersey.
He is buried at St Laurence Cemetery, Jersey, Channel Islands.
