Agnes was, shortly after the end of WW1, sent by the Dr. Barnardo's Homes to evaluate the conditions for children in Bohemia. The aid project that resulted from her report is believed to have been the beginning of the Save the Children Fund. She went on to be Matron of several Dr. Barnardo's institutions.
