Charles Edward Morley-Fletcher was educated at Lambrook and Harrow.
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Charles raced Formula 2 and then saloon cars in Europe; 1974, bought an offshore powerboat, (monohull design, powered by four Mercury 1400 engines, 32-ft long, named "Canicometoo" with the racing number 187); between 1974 and 1977, powerboat British Champion twice and World Champion once.
