Ellen's parents were Frederick Carlyon born 29th Sep. 1815 in Truro, Cornwall who died 24th Sep. 1897 also in Cornwall, and Lucy Turner born in 1825 in Truro, Cornwall who died 21st Nov. 1890 in Cambridgeshire. They had married on 17th Aug. 1843 in Truro. They had only the one child.
