In addition to being an active politician Henry Strutt was Captain of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms and was ADC to Queen Victoria, Edward VII and George V between 1894 and 1924.
As a young man he played Cricket for Cambridge University and from 1863 to 1865 for MCC against the universities.
