Margaret's parents were Alfred Henry Westcott (1861-1934) and Elizabeth Keane (1858-1927). Margaret was an only child
By 1909 Margaret is in an adulterous relationship with James George Newbold who is already married. She bears 3 of his children and then when he dies in October 1913 she proceeds to marry Percy James Cobbold in April 1914. Having borne 2 of Percy's children (1817 & 1818) in about 1918/19 she deserts Percy and the two boys but continues to mother the three bastard Newbold children.
Sometime between 1918 and 1926 she forms a stable partnership with Alexander John Alphonso Robinson. By 1928 she is calling herself Mrs Robinson. Alexander saw much savage combat in World War 1 including a voluntary transfer to the Royal Flying Corps but it is uncertain as to when he returned to civilian life. He died in hospital in Edmonton, Enfield in January 1969 aged 77. Margaret's death certificate has her identity as Margaret Elizabeth Robinson, widow of Alec John Robinson but it is uncertain whether she ever actually married him. She was certainly presenting herself as Mrs Robinson long before she was legally divorced from Percy in 1941.
