Matilda and Croker had 11 children.
When the 17th Regiment left NSW for India in 1836, Matilda accompanied her husband but left their son, William Charles Miller with Ann and John Kinchela. He remained with his grandmother in Australia until she returned to Europe in 1846. Ann returned with her daughter Mary and Thomas Goodall Gore and family. Ann is buried in the same grave as her grandson, William, his wife and one of their children at Brockley Cemetery, Lewisham.
