Biography and Notes

Laurence was incumbent of a number of parishes. He held Dowlish Wake and St. John with All Saints, Kingstone from 1916 to 1935. Also, but not necessarily in this order, Ashburton, Ashwater, Bucks Mills / Bucks Cross, Westwood Ho and Exeter St. Thomas.

It is said that he gave up drinking so that he could preach abstinence.

The Reverend Mallett's parents: The Reverend William George Mallett born 1841 London, Middlesex and died 22 8 1922 Torquay, Devon and Mary Wippell born 1843 Exeter, Devon and died 1921 Newton Abbot, Devon aged 78. They married 31 10 1866 Bengal, India and had 5 children.
