John Hewitt Amys was baptised 11 2 1790 Rickinghall Inferior, Suffolk and buried 29 11 1851 St Peter's, Palgrave, Suffolk.
He is recorded to have been living in Wortham, 1814-1823 and at Parham, Palgrave from 1823 to 1834. He was at Hill House, Rickinghall from 1834 until 1841 when the house was sold. It commanded a fine view over the Church and schools at Lower Rickinghall. Even in those days the postal town was Diss in Norfolk.
