Henry arrived in Hong Kong in 1895, having spent the two previous years in Jardine's New York offices. He came home in 1911 to represent Hong Kong at the coronation of King George V and returned to Hong Kong and the Far East in his yacht "Cutty Sark" in 1922. Like his father he served as MP for Epsom, Surrey. He remained a director of Jardines until his death.
