Bridget was the youngest daughter of William Henry Lloyd (1831-1912) and Helena Parker Collett (1846-1908). They had marreid on 30th August 1865. After schooling at Bedford High School and training at the Norland Institute Bridget went to work briefly at the Children's hospital in Gateshead on Tyne. From 1909 to 1911 she visited India where she met her husband. In December that year they were married. In 1914 she was home on leave when Dayrell was killed, but she continued to work for canteens in France and Germany. She made herself similarly useful in the 2nd World War earning high praise for her devotion to duty in the service of the NAAFI. Bridget was a large jovial person loved for her great sense of humour.
