William was ordained on 10th October 1790 and served as curate in Hackney, London during 1790 and 91. His brother purchased the living at Inkberrow for him in 1792. Unusually he was called to the Bar as a barrister in the Inner Temple in 1799. When he died he left all his money to his unmarried daughter, Agnes Sarah Lannoy as all his other children were already well off.
