Eleanor YOUNG

#8879, Eleanor YOUNG

Born 1775
Died 1835

Buried 21 04 1835 New Windsor, Berkshire (as Lady Eleanor Chapman).
The two silhouettes are of Sir John and his second wife. They are signed by 'Foster' who is known to have worked in Windsor and to have had apartments in Windsor Castle as he painted the Royal Family. Although he travelled throughout England he was at Windsor in the 1830s. The silhouette of Sir John shows a young man and it could be that he was copying an earlier image to give to family members. This was often done. That of Lady Chapman was given by 'Mrs Henry Chapman' in 1899, presumably their daughter in law.
