George Shorting departed for Canada 8 10 1921 arriving 16 10 1921 (passage paid for by his Grandparents). He married Blanche Bennetsen sometime between 1931 and 1933. He and Blanche travelled from Canada to the USA in 1933 to visit her father Chris. He and his family travelled from Southampton to New York 2 3 1949 on the 'Queen Mary'. They lived in Canada and lived in Hastings during their stay in the UK. (He was a Smelter Man by occupation).
