Ralph took over as Managing Director of A Boursot & Co. but the business which was opposite Christie's in King Street, St James, took a direct hit from a German bomb and was obliterated. There was no compensation for war damage so Ralph had no choice but to sell off the rump of the business to Brooks Bodle and Co. The lovely family home at Vicarage Gate in Kensington was also destroyed by a bomb. Fortunately none of the five old spinster aunts was killed. Ralph's son Guy restarted A Bousot & Co early in the 21st Century in Ardres in France not far from where his great-great-great grandfather, Claude had his chateau.
