Jeremy's career has always been in Logistics, most of it with Marks & Spencer. Following his MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Westminster, and a spell with MSAS International (now DHL), he was appointed Logistics Manager at Marks & Spencer (2009). In 2011 he became GM Logistics, Head of Development and in 2012 this was followed by his position as Head of Logistics International Retail where he was responsible for M & S retail distribution world-wide excluding UK. In autumn 2016, following the appointment of Steve Rowe as Marc Bolland's successor Jeremy became Head of International Supply Chain. In this role he had to shape the supply chain of the future.
2017 saw him appointed General Manager, Franchise Partners, Middle East.
In November 2019 he was appointed Global Supply Chain Officer at one of Europe's largest toy retailers, The Entertainer, arriving just in time to take control of survival-ensuring on-line sales throughout the Pandemic. Since then he has added the responsibilities of the Chief Planning Officer to his portfolio and added Transformation Officer to his job title.
On 1st June 2023 the Group Holdings Board announced that "since January, Jeremy Cobbold, Chief Supply Chain & Transformation Officer and Martin Rothwell, Chief Financial Officer have been leading the Operating Board on an informal basis day to day. We are very grateful for their dedication and equally delighted to confirm today that we will be formalising Jeremy and Martin as interim CEOs with immediate effect.
In January 2024 Martin Rothwell was confirmed as CFO, The Entertainer and Jeremy Cobbold was appointed Deputy CEO. Recently The Entertainer signed a contract with Tesco under which they will become exclusive toy supplier. This will have the effect of doubling the size of their business over a year. No mean undertaking! Over a 12 month period Jeremy oversaw the integration of The Entertainer into 780 Tesco stores. Mission accomplished.
In May 2025 Jeremy left The Entertainer, his farewell tribute reading: As Jeremy's time at The Entertainer draws to a close, we want to take a moment to thank him for his outstanding leadership and the significant impact he has made on our business. Jeremy has been a highly valued colleague to the entire senior team and a trusted member of the board. His presence, insight, and energy will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure of working with him. We wish him every success in his next chapter.
In June 2025 Jeremy joined PenCarrie Ltd as Operations Director. PenCarrie, based in Cullompton, Devon is a leading successful player in the textile wholesaling and B2B apparel market.
