#533, Peter Robert COBBOLD

Peter obtained his PhD at the University of London in 1973. He lectured at Leeds University from 1973 to 1975. Thereafter he was Professor of Geology at Rennes University, France, specialising in Plate Tectonics, for many years until his 'official' retirement in 2011.

Even before that his List of Publications, held by the Trust, ran to 156 entries across 16 pages. He is, unquestionably pre-eminent in his field. In 2011 he was appointed Emeritus Research Professor at Rennes, a post he will hold for at least 5 years.

For some years he has appeared in "Marquis' Who's Who in Science and Engineering" but at the beginning of 2013 he was selected by the editors for an entry in "Marquis's Who's Who in the World.

The 2015 edition of this highly respected work again carries a brief version of his formidable CV.
