One source says that he arrived in New York 6/2/1914 aboard the Lusitania from Liverpool. Another source says that he had gone to New York in 1911. Either way, he married firstly in March 1914 in Missouri and by 26/10/1914 he had enlisted in the Canadian Army Expeditionary Force. He married secondly in Canada in October 1922.
