Both brothers adopted careers with wheels. Whilst his elder sibling went for two wheels and a lot of speed, Mac opted for the slower multi-wheeled business of a haulage contractor. He remained a bachelor until late in life but seems to have followed a sideline as a mole catcher having once claimed to have caught enough moles to make a waistcoat. He lived in Worcester Park, formerly one of Henry VIII's hunting grounds and latterly the home of gunpowder manufacture until the mill blew up in the 1850s.
In his 60s he married a lady nicknamed 'Pickles' who sadly predeceased him. There were no children.
