Thomas had premises at 32/34 North Hill, opposite the Marquis of Granby. Sun Assurance Co. in 1776 insured Thomas Andrews of Colchester, Brewer and Maltster on his dwelling house, wash house, counting house, storehouse and brewing office and Inns; Star & Garter, Mitre, Bishop's Blaze and Coach and Horses.
The business was acquired by Charles Cobbold around 1823.Thomas was a Councillor in 1785 and Colchester Borough Chamberlain 1798-1812.
