#2967, Gwendolyn GWATKIN

In the 1911 Census taken on 2nd April in Tendring, Essex Gwendoline's mother, Matilda Emily Gwatkin nee Ashton aged 56 is living with her daughter in the household of  Barnett Dyer Lempriere Gray Anley.  Her mother was born in Gulval, Cornwall in 1855.

Matilda Emily Ashton was the daughter of Thomas Briggs Ashton and Henrietta Rossi.  Matilda had married George Leigh Gwatkin in 1874 at St. Pancras, London.  George Leigh had 5 siblings: Edward, Robert Lovell, Theophilus, Charles Minto and Anne Leigh Gwatkin.

George Leigh Gwatkin's parents were Theophilus Palmer Gwatkin who had married Jane Leigh on 9th September 1841.  Jane died in 1865.

Theophilus Palmer Gwatkin's parents were Maj. Gen. Edward Gwatkin and Hetty Elizabeth Gascoign.
