Arthur William Cairns was 2nd Earl Cairns, Viscount Garmoyle and Baron Cairns of Garmoyle in the County of Antrim. He was educated at Wellington College, Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge and became Private Secretary to the Duke of Richmond and President of the Board of Trade. He is said to have died intestate of Pneumonia.
