#2755, Charles Augustus FONNEREAU

Born 1871
Died 1914
Father Thomas Neale FONNEREAU (1841 - 1890)
Mother Blanche Editha PEARSE (03 Mar 1840 - 1885)

Charles was baptised on 04 01 1872 at St Margaret's Church in Ipswich, Suffolk. He was educated at Clifton Hall and later joined the 4th Battalion of the Suffolk Regiment, retiring as Captain.

Around 1903, following the death of his father, Charles moved to Perth, Western Australia where he was a farmer, later moving to New South Wales. He joined the 7th Light Horse Regiment at the start of the First World War but living conditions at the Army camp were appalling. Many suffered illness due to food and water shortages and Charles fell victim to pneumonia and died on 06 11 1914, presumably before seeing active service.

He was buried at the Church of England Cemetery, Liverpool, New South Wales on 09 11 1914.

He died without issue.
