Said to have had a son who also worked as an engineer on the Indian Railways. Edward had been married previously on 5th April 1871 in St John's Church, Bombay, India to Helen Fanny Heath who had been born in Tottenham, Middlesex in 1848 and who died on 1st January 1888 in Poona, Bombay, India. She was buried on 2nd January.
Helen's parents were William Heath, a Solicitor, born 1809 in London who died in 1887 in Sussex and Sarah Hephzibah Moxon born 1823 in India who died 1889 in Sussex. They had married in Devonshire in 1843 and had 3 children in addition to Helen.
