On Tuesday, the 20th inst, at the parish church of Linton, near Ross, Herefordshire, by the Rev. Edward Palin, B.D. (father of the bride, assisted by the Rev. Robert Russell Cobbold, vicar of Earl's Barton, and the Rev. Henry Palin Gurney (cousin of the bride), Principal of the Durham College of Science at Newcastle, Mr Henry Ralph Cobbold, of Calcutta and London, youngest son of the late Prebendary R. H. Cobbold, rural dean and rector of Ross to Miss B. E. Watson Palin, eldest daughter of the Rev. Edward Palin, vicar of Linton. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. E. W. Palin. The best man was Mr. W. M. Wisely and the bridesmaids were the Misses Mary, Edith, and Nellie Palin (sisters of the bride), and Miss Helen Havergal and the Misses Ruth and Elizabeth Cobbold (nieces of the bridegroom). After the ceremony a reception was held at Linton Vicarage by the bride's parents, and later in the afternoon the happy pair left for their honeymoon tour, whilst early in October they leave England for Calcutta.

Brita was a tall handsome woman described by the local paper as a 'Herefordshire Beauty'
