A newspaper announcement, undated and newspaper unknown reads as follows: DICKSON - COBBOLD - On 8th inst at Holy Trinity Church, Colchester, William Hill Dickson Esq of Melbourne, Australia, to Jane, eldest daughter of Arthur T Cobbold Esq, Colchester. An account of the event appeared as follows: MARRIAGE OF MISS COBBOLD - Yesterday (Thursday) morning Miss Jane Cobbold, eldest daughter of Arthur T Cobbold Esq, of Colchester was married at Holy Trinity Church to William Hill Dickson Esq of Melbourne, Australia. Mr Dickson is the third son of the late John Dickson Esq of Romaldkirk, Yorkshire. The Rev W P Wilson MA, Rector of Holy Trinity Church officiated, assisted by the Rev Wm Wright DCL, Head Master of the Royal Grammar School, Colchester. During the day the bells rang a merry peal.
