Captain Griffith died aged twenty-six on 26th September in the Third Battle of Passchendaele.
At the time he was serving with the London Regiment of the 2nd Battalion (Queen Victoria's Rifles) and had been mentioned in Despatches.
He is remembered with honour on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Tyne Cot Memorial on Panel 151.
His letters from the front line and posthumously awarded medals are in the possession of his great niece Vanessa Anne Griffith.
