#2100, Augusta Kenya TATTON-BROWN

Born 1955
Died ?
Father John Stewart TATTON-BROWN (16 Aug 1905 - 01 Feb 1971)
Mother Kenya Eleanor KITCHENER (12 Jul 1923 - 21 May 2022)

Augusta and Jim developed a farm from bush in Western Australia and bred Australian Stock Horses for campdrafting and eventing. Their greatest success was with Ringwould Jaguar, who was ridden by Sonja Johnson (born 1967 in Albany, WA) to numerous wins in three day events in Australia.

They represented Australia in 2004 with a 5th place in the Eventing World Cup final at Pau, France. In 2005 in Adelaide they were in the 4*Trans-Tasman winning team and 2nd in the individual. In the 2006 World Equestrian Games at Aachen they won team Bronze and in the 2007 Trans-Tasman at Taupo were a 3*individual winner. The 2008 Olympics in Hong Kong saw team Silver and a 10th individual followed by a 4* 10th individual in Adelaide in 2009. Sadly he sustained an injury in the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky and had to retire after finishing the cross-country.

In between international events he had many wins in Australia despite the difficulty of having to travel across from Sonja's farm near Albany to go to major events in the Eastern States. His toughness and resilience in spite of numerous injuries is outstanding and he went on to be a schoolmaster until retiring at the age of 24.

To reach international level competition is an achievement in itself, to stay sound and fit for seven years despite the demands of the sport, is a testament to Sonja's care and his innate strength and will to win.
