In addition to anything else that he is good at, Oscar is an elite runner.  Years ago, in 2011 to be accurate, Roger Robinson visited Shrewsbury for a freshman's race.  The Royal Shrewsbury School Hunt (RSSH) is the oldest running club in the world so Oscar had chosen good company.  Having watched the race Roger Robinson wrote "The winner, Oscar Dickins, 13, may have even more promise to judge from the perfectly judged race he ran, and the fact that he broke the record for this ancient course by 16 seconds.  He even outran the senior whose role was to run ahead and show the course.  So after halfway the job of hare for Dickins had to be taken over by Ian Haworth, a teacher at the school who did 2:39 at this year's London Marathon - no bunny.  Dickins has so far raced mainly track 1500m, but on this showing will break more records before long."
