The publishers of Who's Who in Suffolk in 1995 claimed that only two residents of Eyke were included. One was Major Richard Hassell Sheepshanks DSO MVO, Late Probyn's Horse, Indian Army, Old Rookery House, Eyke, Woodbridge. Second son of the late Rev T Sheepshanks, Arthington Hall near Leeds.
