Catherine was the daughter and heiress of Sir Robert Strode of Parnham, (died1616).
Catherine, his cousin had three daughters by Sir Richard: (1) Elizabeth, baptised Beaminster 23rd September 1605 who married John Newbury of Maiden Newton; (2) Frances who married Robert Savery of Slade and (3) Catherine also baptised in Beaminster on 20th January 1608/9. Sadly, Lady Catherine was buried the same day so presumably died in childbirth. Catherine brought to the marriage several estates in Devon and Dorset, including Lower Chalmington, Dorset and Parnham, title to which was later disputed.
