Margaret Charlotte was the daughter of Sir W Brown ffolkes, Bt. MP FRS of Hillington (30/8/1786-24/3/1860) who sat as a Whig MP in the House of Commons from 1830 to 1837. He had been educated at Harrow and Jesus College, Cambridge and had been High Sheriff of Norfolk. In 1818 he married Chatlotte Philippa Browne, daughter of Dominick Geoffrey Browne of Co Mayo. His son, Martin was killed by lightening so his grandson, William (1847-1912) inherited the baronetcy.
